Shematria Proof Engine Bugfix Notes — August 2026 Updates since the August 3, 2026 PC release (Windows and Linux)

Calculation Engine Written numerals now transpose correctly across all ciphers Numeric values entered as written-number flags — for example the word meaning “threefold” entered as the numeral 3 — were previously held flat at their Biblical Gematria value regardless of which cipher was active. Under the Reversal Cipher, 3 should resolve to the letter Shin, whose reversal partner gives 90; it was instead remaining 3. This is now corrected consistently across all three internal code paths that handle numeric values. Average operator: trailing subtract now reads the averaged result When a calculation used an Average operator followed by a Subtract, the subtraction was reading the wrong value — the last individual button’s value before the average rather than the averaged result itself. Affected calculations (such as those used in certain scribal constructions in Ezekiel) now produce correct totals. Button display matches the active cipher The letter and value shown on each word button were not updating when the active cipher changed for written-number entries. Both the displayed letter and the yellow value below it now reflect the active cipher at all times, consistent with how Reversal Cipher and English Reversal already updated button labels for ordinary words.

Verse Text Handling Setuma (ס) paragraph markers stripped The Samekh/setuma closed-paragraph marker — the scribal mirror of the Petucha/Pe open-paragraph marker — was missing from the list of verse-closer characters removed before calculation. It was occasionally appearing as a stray letter in notariqon results. Both markers are now stripped consistently. Lone Vav boundary bleed removed A single Vav sometimes appeared at the start of a fetched verse, representing a Vav-consecutive prefix from the following verse bleeding in at the text boundary. It is now stripped when it appears isolated at the start or end of the verse text, without affecting Vav letters that are correctly part of words.
